Presto Music is the UK’s largest independent music school, with schools across the North West, including Liverpool, Warrington, Wrexham, Runcorn and Manchester. With more than 1,400 students, Presto is renowned for rapidly developing musicians of all abilities and ages.
With a lack of any previous IT infrastructure, the staff at Presto Music were unable to collaborate across offices. Additionally, they have several members of staff that work from home, who were unable to access shared files. They needed a system that allowed all members of staff, irrespective of location to be able to collaborate through simple IT infrastructure.
Additionally, we installed Thin Clients across offices and at users homes and centralized their data at our UK based data centre, to allow easy collaboration between all members of staff.
“As a small business we had not invested in any IT infrastructure and had several staff working in different locations working off laptops and sharing information via Drop box or email.
We had also experienced several issues with laptops/PCs crashing and the resultant loss of non-backed up work which was causing us regular headaches and unpredictable costs as were reliant on reactive external IT support.
The Proactive approach suggested by Desktop Monster coupled with dummy terminals has meant that we no longer worry about work being lost, backups are now automatic which removes the human element, we have improved data security and it is now possible to access central records remotely (from any PC or hand held device) without reliance on the need for individuals to share them.
The latest software and licenses are included with the system and we now have flexibility to expand without significant costs.
A monthly fixed cost for each user allows us to budget for the cost of this important element of our business. The service we have received from Desktop Monster to date has been excellent.
